This is the Pen tool, it’s essentially the typical brush default brush you see in just about every art program. They are made to emulate Paint Tool Sai's watercolor brushes. The tool has a hard edge by default and doesn’t really blend at all. If you love beautiful manga art this set is for you. 1)Or simple drag and drop the brushes in to the brushes tool. 2)Or you can import the brushes on the program, right click on the brushes tool select import sub tool and choose your brushes. Because of that, the tool is generally good for lineart and that’s about it, you could paint with the tool as well, but I’d just suggest using it for lineart. Here’s some examples of the pen tool at work….please ignore how horrible my lines are…Anyway, also, you may have notice the smooth transition of width in the line, this is essentially because I’m using a tablet, just in case you don’t know how I got the smooth lines. With that in mind, you can’t really do the same thing with a mouse, because there’s no differing levels of pressure with a button, it’s either pressed, or not pressed. You CAN do this with a few different tools though, which I’ll go over later, so if you don’t have a tablet, then don’t fret! You CAN still do this.Īlso if you look at the picture, you should see some intersecting lines, and looking at the lines, you see that colours and lines made with the pen tool don’t blend.
somehow when i try and color my lineart, it covers the lineart on paint tool sai and photoshop. While you can colour with this tool, it’s best to use it for lineart, because it doesn’t blend. click on it, and the tools will be different. My go to brushes in this set are the Manga Draft Ink Pen, Manga Line Art Ink Pen, Manga Digital Watercolor, Watercolor Square, and Soft Airbrush. I’d provide a tutorial for more information then what I have on this tool, but unfortunately I can’t find one. I thought I did at one point, but unfortunately no, it was for a different tool that I actually don’t have, unfortunately.
